Crickets
Would someone please feed the crickets? They must be getting hungry as they're getting louder.

What? I can't hear you. These damn crickets are making to much noise.

Sure, rub it in!
It's too friggin' cold in an unheated shed for me to be working out there. Maybe come Spring.
Maybe.

I really like your tagline. It makes me chuckle.
Is it obvious that it's paraphrased from "Real Genius"?
I achieved geekhood in the 80's and that movie struck a chord with me. One of my other favorite lines is when someone asks Val Kilmer why he is wearing the doodlebug antennae on his head he answers, "Because if I wear them anywhere else, they chafe."

Well, I received a notice about your post so I guess it's still breathing. We just need people to post questions, answers etc. to get it rolling again. I think the 3ll forum site has mostly replaced the traffic here.

Still breathing and here, but due to the lack of traffic, etc., I'll likely take the board down sometime this year.

Re: Crickets
While I am not a racer, I enjoyed this forum immensely. I realized that I haven't checked here in quite some time though. If/when it goes away, it will be a loss.

Re: Crickets
Hello Chris,
I want to thank you for all you have done with this board (btw, like the new look) over the years. Still racing, though just vintage these days. However, Runoffs are at Road America in 2020 and that might just bring me out for another go!
There's alot of info stored here. It would be a loss for it to go away completely. I wonder if it is possible to archive it over to the 311.org site?
All the best, old friend!

Re: Crickets
Wow,
I thought this site had died a long time ago.
Actually, I could use some help from what might be left of the community. The time has come for me to divest myself of my racer after 44 years. Unfortunately I don’t know where to start anymore. The last time I ran my car was runoffs 2002. I completely rebuilt and updated it for a serious run in 2010 but life got in the way and I never ran it. It is currently race ready but at 70 yrs old I’m not.
I suspect the car would still be relatively competitive in E prod but not sure if there is any market there. Even though the car has some provenance it has been modified over the years such that it would not be feasible to return it to what I understand are the requirements for vintage.
Any suggestions as to where I might be able to advertise or market the car and what it might be worth or what venues it could be used in would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Crickets
Hi Dave,
Long time buddy...good to see your post. Most race roadster talk these days has gone over to the 311's forum.
https://www.311s.org/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=10
and there is the SCCA prod board
http://prodracing.com/prodcar/
That's probably your best bet for generating interest in the car to take it racing again. Don't discount vintage race groups, rules and times are changing and our cars are getting older (as are we)...groups are seeing many more SCCA prod cars from the 2000's now coming into their race groups. And there are alot of vintage groups out there!
see you at the track!
