Wanna go racing?
Not mine, but it has some of the parts that were originally on my 67.5 2000...

Nope. I bought the derelict of a 2000 from him, and he kept some of the parts much to my dismay. I still think I got an OK deal.
Unless I am mistaken, the owner lives in a loft above the bay of the storage unit that he works on the car in...

I think that he was told that the car was worth all the money and wants to cash out. As I recall, it was solid. All of the tough stuff to find was there. It would be neat to see it back on the track again...

I agree, it needs to get back on track. Whoever said it was worth $45K should buy it. I just don't think a vintage race car project is worth that much extra $$ for the history. It will take some additional $$ to get it back to period correct preparation. We all love these cars and want to preserve the history but it's still a Datsun. I may be wrong (not the first or last time) and someone will snatch it up.
For perspective, if someone is serious about building a vintage roadster I have a 2000 racecar in need of restoration that was built by Sharp for a privateer in 1969. I have the original receipts. I'd take 1/10 the asking price of the above car if it goes to a good home with someone serious about restoring AND vintage racing it.

Here is a cheaper way to go racing. If Chris wants back in, it is already in his color scheme!
