1600 G Production Race Car for sale

Postby Chris Coker » Fri Apr 01, 2005 8:20 am

I'm putting my race car up for sale. I'm still in the process of putting the engine back together, but I'd like to sell the whole package: car, trailer, spare transmissions, parts, etc. I'll soon have a better list of what's included in the package, but I wanted to get the work out now, in case anyone is starting to shop around.

All serious offers will be considered. I may consider parting everything out later this summer, if I don't get any takers. The car is well prepared, and I plan on offering it as a turn-key package.

This will in no way affect this message board. Although I'm getting out of racing, I may do some autocrossing, and I'll have more time to tinker around with my other Roadster. I may finally get around to making some more carbon fiber parts as well. And I still plan on showing up at the track to crew, if anybody needs and extra pair of hands.

The reason for this drastic change.... I'm GETTING MARRIED :D :!: Lisa and I have been dating since March of last year. As we've been getting more serious, I came to the conclusion that I just didn't have the time or energy to continue racing, and also work on my relationship. So, I'm off to better things!

Again, I plan on keeping my website up and running, and maintaining a presence in the Roadster community. The time and cost to maintain this site is almost zero, and I'm happy to keep providing this means of keep all of us past, present, and future Roadster Racers connected.

It's been a dream come true to be able to get a Roadster on the track and race it, and with a reasonable level of success as well. Since I was in high school, I always though it would be really cool to one day race a 1600. The friends that I have made at the track are ones that I value and hold in high regard.

All the best!
Chris C.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

It is sad that you are going to give up the racing, but I fully understand. There are two things that will COMPLETELY change your life - getting married and having kids. They are not bad changes, but changes nonetheless...

I know someone that may be interested. I will let them know.

Chris,

I look at the date of this post and have to smile. Pretty good April Fools!

Seriously though, congratulations to you and Lisa and we wish you all the best. When is the big day, June?

I heard Mike Poorboy might be looking for a car as well prepared as yours.

Hope to see you at the track sometime this season. Good going, mate!

Wow .... didn't see this coming !! Congrats Chris !

I agree with Bill on the April 1sr post date . It did seem kind of fishy :)

Bill, I was looking at Jeff's car and Guy also has his car up for sale , but when
I did the math I figured I could buy a car , but couldn't afford to run it :(

After I posted I thought about my posting day. No foolin' the car IS going up for sale.... There's still a little part of me that doesn't quite believe it. Must be love, though. :)

The cam and lifters are due back from Elgin this week. And I hope to soon get a good list of everything that will be available with the car. Basically everything you need to go racing. Lot's of spares, and a canopy too. If I had raced this summer, my only costs would have been fuel, food, entry fees, and possibly tires. The tires I have now are still good, though.

Basically, I'm hoping to get around $8-$10k for everything. Considering I have about that much tied up in just the engine and the trailer combined, that's a pretty good deal.

I thought you decided on keeping your car for the season Jeff ??

Jeff , whats your race schedule this year ? I just talked to a buddy
of mine and he needs to run either PIR or Pacific in his Formula Vee
to get his comp license completed .

I know Guy is selling his car as well , but when I called him last time he
was busy and wasn't able to chat much .
