At Saturday's autocross event, my roadster suffered from loss of fuel pick-up in the sweeping turns, even with 3/8 of a tank of gas. I recently converted to EFI and never had a problem with carburetors with half as much fuel. The problem went away with 3/4 of a tank of gas on Sunday's autocross. Obviously I need to make a mod to the gas tank to avoid future problems with fuel slosh. I need something legal for SCCA Solo 2 Street Prepared category. Anyone know of a good fix to this problem? TIA.

Gary, I am assuming a few things, so perhaps some additional clarification is necessary. With your EFI system I am sure you had to modify your fuel tank, are you running an internal pump? what fuel system mods have you made? Are you running a stock tank or a fuel cell?

My best guess is that you need a surge tank with trap doors in it. ATL makes a number of these, ST528, ST520 etc.

Best,

R

I put a flexible pickup hose with a weight on the end. It flops around in the tank. My tank was only 3 gallons. It seemed to work OK.

Bolt on modification? I used some bolts.

Gary,

Don't know if you've made a mod but consider the older VW Jetta fuel pump/accumulator package. I owned two and it's a shoebox sized fuel package for a CIS (high pressure) car that might work for you.
