Shocks and Springs

It's good to see some activity on this board again. But since it's heading toward Spring, I was wondering what you guys (and gals, if you're out there) are running for shocks and/or springs. If you don't feel comfortable posting "secrets" publicly, I'd appreciate you sending me an e-mail. The car is...

Thanks guys for that info. I was stuck on my viewpoint and didn't see that there was any other way to look at it.

Wouldn't some Loktite have prevented that? Besides, the vibration would be on the engine side of the motor mounts, with or without rubber mounts. Seems like anything shaking loose that wouldn't have anyway, would be on the frame/body side of the mounts, since the motor would have the vibration anyho...

Replacement Fenders

I'm posting a similar question on 311s.org, but this board is more about racing and even though a lot of the members are on both boards, that's close enough for me. My question is: Are there other sources of fiberglass fenders for the Roadsters beside Japco? Any recommendations or no? Are the fiberg...

Re: Tuesday's Runoffs Update

The "technical inspector" ( I use the term loosly) used some of the worst technique I've ever seen to take his measurements. Bill's 15x6 wheel was measured at 16 1/4 x 6.5! He must have used the outside dimensions of the wheel instead of the bead-seating area. Didn't he even look at the tire? :roll...

Sid- Thanks for the info. But the Rebco unit is under $55 whereas the Grant unit is almost $162. I just need to be able to remove the steering wheel so I can get in and out of the car. The vehicle will be for autocross use only, so appearance is not too important. If I were restoring the car to driv...

I got offa my butt and looked on the 'net and found a company called "Rebco" that sells several models that can be used: http://www.rebcoracing.com/ They have a hex-nut style with a push pin and a splined style with a pull-collar. With both models you have to weld the insert to the steering column a...

Steering Wheel Question

Since I'm too lazy to spend all that time looking for one on the 'net, does anyone know of one or more sources of removable steering wheels, and the adapters to use them on a Roadster? I can't seem to find anything on Summit or Jeg's and haven't seen any advertised by the vendors that carry Roadster...

What an amazing coincidence! I have a lifter that looks EXACTLY like the one on the right sitting in my toolbox. Too long ago to remember which valve it came off of, but I kept it as a "memento". Also, did anyone else use to make ashtrays out of old pistons? Cut them off through the wrist pin hole a...

I have not seen one like that, but I did have an adjustable cam gear on my old R16, but it had 3 or 4 (CRS) slots for the Woodruff key, and corresponding marks by the teeth to line up with the chain. This one looks better as far as adjustment goes, but there is no way the old style could loosen. Ah,...
