Re: Transmission Woes

Put it in neutral and shit it down. A Freudian slip? Yes. that was a slip. I'm sure that word came out of my mouth at some point. That'd be "shut it down". Will, I will give that a try. That seems like a long shot (to me anyway, I have only the vaguest knowledge of how these things ...

Transmission Woes

Had an Autocross on Sunday. Was doing okay (but ended up DFL in race tires somehow). I was closer to some of the regulars than I had been recently. It was a strange mix of people this week. Seems like a few of the cars I'm usually ahead of in race tires class were driving in street tires this weeken...

When Bill asked the question, I asked a mechanic buddy of mine that, if I was going to a locker, would there be a difference in using an open or welded as a starting point. He said, as a starting point, the open would be better. I got an e-mail from Spence Weir at Dwarfcarproducts (they did the conv...

Okay, being new to this, I don't understand the phrase: "like a spool."

I understood the locker to somewhere between a welded and an LSD.

Bill, I'm probably also interested in open. Don't' know how many you'd have to spare. I'm thinking of going down the Detroit Locker route, and open would be the better starting point. I'm thinking that the pin cone u-turns encountered in a lot of autocrosses would be much more difficult with the wel...

Will, If Chris can't find his pictures, I can take some pictures this weekend upload them somewhere. I'm going to be under the car anyway this weekend. I have one from him that I've labelled "Panhard Bar", but it doesn't show any detail regarding the attachment. Steve http://www.patriotspl...

Will, that makes me feel a lot better. I was worried I'd get a "My wasn't that silly" response or somehting along those lines. Hey, maybe I still will. Ny-locks and lock washers are the plan. I'm thinking that I must have had lock washers on those bolts since it took me around 2-3 hours to...

I realized I never posted a report on the second autocross with Audrey II on Veterans day weekend. Slightly edited e-mail I sent to a friend of mine: On the surface, it seems like a horrible weekend. Took Audrey II down to the Nashville Superspeedway for a Tennessee Region event (since our season in...

Ron, I'd definitely be interested in trading the 4.62 for your 5.13. A guy in our club his first Solo National in a Prepared Class Datsun 1200. He was sitting next to me at the October membership meeting and said, "You really need a differential above 5.00." So I'd been intending to go sea...

Congrats Will. Great Effort. Went over to 311s.org. Great pictures. I hadn't seen large pictures of your car. I had R compounds on Audrey I for a while. They are great, aren't they. I haven't subscribed to Grassroots Motor Sports in a while, but they used to do tire tests in a autocrossing setting. ...
